Moin Moin and Hello Everyone – Greetings from Hamburg to the World!

After just about two years in the pandemic, our experience has increased considerably in the meantime. Before the onset of the pandemic, our clients used to bargain for a better price of 50 dollars for nearly every container – and that at a time when the rate was only about 400 dollars. Nowadays, where the rates are somewhere in the 5 digits, one primarily hopes that the container reaches the shipping port and that it is loaded onto the ship before yet another lockdown is once again declared.

A crazy world. But a chance, as well. And, indeed, the chance to continue to make our world a little better. It´s not only about just making the biggest profit anymore – it´s more a matter of dependability, it’s about trust and, naturally, about the contact, face-to-face. All of us miss the face-to-face contact so much, particularly in this close, family-like network group. In May, Marco Polo Line Group will meet again in Cannes in person. And, it’s about time!

Our company anniversary this year – PETER RATHMANN & CO´s 60th year – faded into the background because of Corona. Our staff should not be the ones to suffer because of the pandemic. We’ve even got four of our staff members celebrating their jubilees this year. We congratulate them on their years of employment with our company – from 10 all the way to 35 years.
